Family favorite for generations! Many special events and holidays served with amazing fresh Pastosa raviolis, fresh mozzarella, manicotti and stuffed shells. Ugh I drool thinking about!
The quarts of sauce are delicious as well if you don't have time to make your own, I 100% recommend Pastosa for all their food, meats in the case, prepared dishes, cold salads in the deli and you have to try the fresh raviolis, manicottis are my favorite!
This will always be a staple in our family for authentic Italian meals.

Best selection of everything. Everyone behind the deli counter and the checkout counter are so kind and helpful, always! I've never had a bad experience. Love this place so much!!!

Whenever I visit S.I. I stop in for the Seafood Salad, which is so fresh and so good.

Today, I also picked up Roasted Garlic & Herb, cheddar cheese spread. Very good butter.

They are a bit on the pricier side.

The food is wonderful. HOWEVER in the store today some customers were served even though they were not in masks (FDNY) and were not respecting social distancing. I will NOT be going back. Super disappointed.

Ah I felt like I was back in brooklyn coming to this place, and as in Brooklyn I mean old brooklyn, the good old days where you can go to a real Italian place, get some great sandwiches, good food, fresh pasta, homemade sauce, without some yuppie offering you gluten free, organic bulls***

As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're in heaven!!! The amount of mozzarella, hot/cold food, salamis, homemade pastas, cold cuts, Italian bread...I can go on & on! You basically want to order a truck load to go. With a side of gaining about 30 pounds. As soon as I went to the deli counter to order I recognized a man working there, he said "I've made thousand of sandwiches for you" just so happens he use to work in johns deli in Bensonhurst, before it was sold, and isn't the same anymore! Which sucks....

I told him I will be back for him to make me a thousand more! And for 10 bucks the Italian hero I got was absolutely delicious! Stuffed to the max with cold cuts, didn't have to remind him of the oil & vinegar, or fresh roasted peppers. Never the less it was amazing! Plus there is parking on the side. Can't wait to come by get some sausages, meatballs, and ravioli!

They have the BEST fresh mozzarella!!! I have tried others, and NO ONE compares! The guys know who I am as soon as I come in... they simply say, "How many?"

I love this place. Out of all the Italian delis/markets on the island and I have been to them all... the quality and the prepared foods is the best here.

All the guys behind the counter are very friendly and very accommodating which is a pleasure especially if you've seen the people who work behind the counter at places like Certos for instance.

All the prepared foods I have eaten are great and they have healthy selections like kale salad which is delicious. I was surprised this place was so good because I have been to the Eltingville location and the food is awful. I found it it's different owners so that explains that.

I recommend them for prepared foods, cold cuts, meat and fish.

My only complaint is one of the cashiers who is constantly miserable. She is the last thing you see when you leave the place and it ruins the experience a bit.

Other then that best place to go for this type of food.

This is a terrible place to go if you have no self control. I went for a damn sandwich, and $90 later I left the store. They don't advertise a list of sandwiches, but were more than happy to make me one. I went with an Italian, which was ham, capicola and soppressata- heavy on the ham. The bread looked like a Portuguese roll, which at first bothered me because they have such beautiful bread here, but it was very soft and light and not a Portuguese roll at all. Overall, a pretty good sandwich.

So why 5 stars? On man... the cheese! This place was a gold mine of beautiful looking hard italian cheese. Each wedge was anywhere from $10-16... so people with a lack of self control that get 5 beware, it can add up. The prepared foods also looked great, and I grabbed a container of vodka sauce on the way out. This place is dangerous.

I will no longer be able to patronize Pastosa. I am a former loyal customer who can't believe the owner refuses to take COVID-19 seriously. I stood there watching Vin Jr walk around with his mask half off his face. So it's no surprise other staff members do the same thing. A mask is only useful if it's OVER YOUR mouth and nose. What the actual hell? I am stunned at the cavalier disregard for their customers health. When questioned I was told it "just slipped down". For 15 minutes? No. I must call bullshit. Until covid is over I will be shopping elsewhere

The prepared Italian dishes have been fantastic lately. The dishes are tasty and remind me of my Napolitano Nana's cooking. They blow away the other locations on SI. Keep up the quality cooking !
