Cities need to take action. Continued deterioration of office markets will eventually spur government action on the issue. “Tax revenue is going to be majorly impacted if office just completely dies,” Zegen says. “Cities and towns throughout the US need to figure out how to supplement what was once a very significant source of tax revenue, or incentivize developers to do something more, to protect their tax bases.” #Joshua Zegen Read More: https://bit.ly/PERE050924

Last Friday, I had the enriching experience of joining NYU's Stern Real Estate Group (SREG) and visiting Madison Realty Capital’s New York City office. This visit not only provided me with valuable insights into their standout industry practices but also significantly contributed to my professional growth, deepening my understanding of the operations of a vertically integrated real estate private equity firm focused on real estate debt and equity strategies. During the visit, I was privileged to learn from visionary co-founders Adam Tantleff and Joshua Zegen. Their stories of building the firm at the young age of 27 were not only incredible but also deeply inspiring. The standout discussion for me during the visit was the two rules/advice Adam shared. In life, you need luck, and you must make your luck. When asked how he specifically applies that to his life, he replied: 'Always showing up.' This advice resonated with me deeply. I believe that simply showing up, being present, and being resilient in the face of challenges are critical attributes for success. I plan to apply this advice in navigating my college and professional career, as I believe that resilience will always solve my problems and shape my future and career. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to meet and engage with the team at Madison Realty Capitals. The insights they shared and the warm welcome I received made this experience truly memorable. This visit has allowed me to diversify my interests and learn more about such an impactful industry, and for that, I am deeply thankful.
