The Italian Cultural Foundation at Casa Belvedere is a not-for-profit organization that celebrates everything Italian via a myriad of exceptional public program offerings for all age groups: Language and cooking classes; art and photo exhibits; film and fig festivals; opera luncheons and casino nights; Italian car shows and fashion shows; live concerts and theatrical performances; guest chef experiences and wine tastings; bocce and bingo (tombola) ... it all happens at Casa Belvedere!

Also integral to our mission is restoring the foundation-owned building, with stunning views of New York Harbor and the Verrazzano Bridge. Built by the Roebling-Stirn family in 1908, this Italianate-style, neo-Renaissance building is one of the few remaining in New York City. This multi-million-dollar rehabilitation project began in 2010 and is ongoing today. Currently, the focus is on restoring the upper floors to significantly expand the foundation’s arts and cultural program offerings.

Casa Belvedere (“house with a beautiful view”) has established itself as a vibrant and buzzing cultural center and an anchor in the community. Members of all nationalities are welcome to join the foundation or participate in programs and events. There are three membership levels: an Arts and Cultural membership for free and discounted cultural programs; a Young Professionals membership for under-40 networking; and the exclusive Program Benefactors membership with preferential treatment and full access to the private dining club.

The foundation’s motto is “Preserving the Past, Enriching the Future.” The foundation’s staff develops programs and events to preserve, promote and celebrate the rich heritage of Italy by encouraging the general public’s appreciation of the Italian language, arts, cuisine, literature, history, horticulture, fashion, music, and commerce through exceptional educational programs, exhibits, and events.
